Geodynamics WorldWide, together with its partner, is negotiating to carry out a passive seismic spectroscopy survey with STAPET. The survey is to be conducted on the São Tomé and Príncipe islands in the Gulf of Guinea, off the Western equatorial coast of Central Africa. São Tomé and Príncipe is the second-smallest African country in terms of population. The main objective of the passive seismic survey will be to identify any on-shore prospect, including hydrocarbon subsurface pools. On the basis of client’s geological and geophysical materials, the measurement campaign will cover approximately 110 km2. Overall, no substantial exploration studies have been made so far on the islands, although shallow on-shore wells have been drilled in the past.
